A red eared slider turtle can be a loving and attractive companion for a long time if properly taken care of.these turtles need time and care as they are kept indoors and require sunlight in moderate quantity.even though these turtles live for about 15 to 20 years when kept as a pet,many of the hatchlings die in a year due to lack of proper care.Red eared sliders have a habit of basking for a long time in the sun to get their adequate nutrition required for their body.so a basking platform as well as a water should be set up in order to make it happy.if properly taken care of it will greet you which will look as if its smiling.algae and fungal growth must be checked by regularly brushing off the algae gently with a brush.note that the shell of a baby turtle is delicate and so you must brush it very gently.food generally varies from shrimps,earthworms and meat like chicken.Sliders turn on to a veggie diet only when they turn old.these are the basics taking care and having a wonderful pet turtle.
